CSFH Course Purpose Statement and Environment

The purpose of College Success for Healthcare is to provide timely, specific, accurate, didactic and experiential curriculum to students who have declared a major in the Nursing & Allied Health division. The course has been developed in order to improve student awareness, success and graduation from South Texas College's very rigorous healthcare programs.

Students enrolled in College Success for Healthcare are presented with an overview of the rigorous and challenging environment of healthcare education, and an understanding of the commitment needed to become a successful nursing or allied health professional.

The College Success for Healthcare class covers the foundations of healthcare and introduces students to the career areas available at South Texas College.

Students perform self-evaluations of their attitudes, perceptions, and expectations about healthcare.

CSFH provides an opportunity for prospective students to receive current, specific, accurate, and complete program advising about the requirements of all NAH majors.

These students can also communicate this with their support teams made up of partners, families, employers, friends and others who really also commit to assist NAH program students.
