- Remember it is your responsibility to upload items on time and maintain compliance for the duration of the program.

Complio Subscription Information
- How do I create my Complio account?
- How do I order my subscription?
- How do I renew my subscription?
- I already have a Complio account, but it is under a different program. How can I change programs?
Vaccines
- What vaccines do I need to apply to the program?
All required vaccines are listed on the Complio Checklist. For all Health Science Professions (HSP) programs, the following immunizations are required and must be validated/stamped by a U.S. medical facility:
- Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) – within the last 10 years
- Hepatitis B – complete 3-dose series (4–6 months) or 2-dose series (1–2 months), OR a titer report proving immunity
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 complete doses or titer report proving immunity
- Varicella (Chicken Pox) – 2 complete doses or titer report proving immunity
- Meningitis (for students 21 years old and under) – 1 dose within the last 5 years is accepted, or 2 completed doses
- COVID-19 Vaccine – Not required by STC HSP (subject to change). If your clinical/practicum site mandates it, you must comply. Health or religious exemptions can be submitted to the clinical site.
Important: All immunizations or titer reports must come from a U.S. medical facility. If you have questions, contact the Clinical Affairs Department.
- What date do I enter when I upload my vaccines?
Enter the date the vaccine was administered, not the date you are uploading it.
- I do not have a copy of my vaccines. Do I need to get them all over again?
No. You can contact or visit your graduating high school to request a copy of your immunization form.
- My vaccine forms are from another country. Will they be accepted?
Unfortunately, international vaccination forms are not accepted. All records must come from a U.S. medical facility.
We recommend taking your records to a county clinic (Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron or Willacy) to have them entered into the ImmTrac Database. The clinic may require you to sign a consent form and could charge a small fee. Once processed, they will provide you with an updated electronic vaccination record (printed copy).
- I do not have a COVID-19 vaccine. Will it be a requirement for the program?
No, COVID-19 vaccination is not required by STC HSP (subject to change). However, if your clinical or practicum site requires it, you must comply. Health or religious exemptions can be submitted to the clinical site.
- My meningitis vaccine is expired or about to expire, but I am over 22. Do I need a new one?
No. Students 22 years or older do not need to renew the meningitis vaccine. Texas law requires 2 complete doses only for students under 22.
- I work at a hospital. Can I submit proof of vaccines from there?
Yes. Contact your hospital’s employee health department to request a copy of your immunizations.
- Are vaccine exemptions allowed?
Yes. Vaccine exemptions are permitted for health or religious reasons, provided proper documentation is submitted in advance to attend clinicals. Please note that the clinical site may request additional documentation.
For more information, contact the Clinical Affairs department at: clinicalaffairs@southtexascollege.edu.

- HSP Library: 956-872-3112
- Where can I find the necessary Complio forms?

- What date do I enter in Complio when I upload a form?
Enter the date the form was signed, not the date you are uploading it.
- Who reviews the files/documents I upload to Complio?

- How long will Clinical Affairs take to review the items I uploaded?
After uploading your documents, please allow up to three (3) business days for the Clinical Affairs Department to review them.
- If an item is not accepted, you will receive an email notification explaining why (check your Complio account).
- If an item is about to expire, you will receive an email notification prompting you to update it before expiration.
- I need to be compliant. How long will it take Clinical Affairs to review the items I uploaded?
The Clinical Affairs Department generally reviews submissions within 3 business days. Please plan ahead, as your personal time management does not affect this review period.
- Does Clinical Affairs have any recommendations for uploading items?
Yes. It is strongly recommended to upload items at least one week before the deadline or expiration date. This ensures there is enough time for both you and Clinical Affairs to review and correct any issues.
- I uploaded my document on Friday afternoon, but I have clinicals on the weekend/Monday morning. Can I still attend clinicals?
No. You must be compliant in Complio to attend clinicals. Clinical Affairs does not review documents on weekends or after hours, so plan uploads accordingly. Contact your clinical instructor or Program Clinical Coordinator if you have questions.
- I uploaded the items, but it is still showing as “Incomplete.” What does that mean?
An item may appear as incomplete for several reasons:
- You have not uploaded a file/document.
- The file you attached was not approved.
- You may need to attach a file/document to other items in that category (e.g., each vaccine/dose or Hospital Orientation requirement).
- Did not input the date or update the date on your Complio.
- I have an item that is about to expire, do I have to resubmit it or update it (renew it)?
Items that are about to expire are to be updated (renew/re-do/get a new one).
- Do I have to wait until it expires to update/upload?
No, do not wait until the item expires for you to update or upload it. Take care of any expiring items at least one week before they are set to expire.
The only item that you have to wait until the day it expires is the COVID-19 Acknowledgment form.
Health Insurance
- I have health insurance. What do I upload to meet the requirement?
Upload verification of coverage (VOC) with a current date (e.g., 00/2025). Make sure your name and status are visible. Most providers are accepted, including Ambetter and Medicaid (CHIP), as long as the correct information is submitted.

Proof of health insurance in Complio expires at the end of every semester. You will need to upload updated proof of coverage at the beginning of each semester.
- There is a “blue checkmark” with an override on the insurance category. What does this mean?

Flu Vaccine
- When do we need the flu vaccine?
The flu vaccine is required during flu season (August–March).
- I got my flu vaccine in August of this year, but Complio won’t let me update it. What should I do?
Enter 9/1/25 as the date on Complio for the new flu season so the system can process it for review.
- I received my flu vaccine earlier this year. Do I need another dose?
Yes. Flu vaccines expire on August 31 of the current year, regardless of when they were administered. New flu vaccines become available in August each year.
- Complio says my flu vaccine will expire on August 31. Will I become non-compliant?
Yes, flu vaccines expire on August 31. Students who have not updated their vaccine will be non-compliant.
- Complio is asking for the vial lot number and expiration date. What is this, and where can I find it?
Ask the facility administering your flu vaccine to include the vial lot number and expiration date on your vaccination form. Most facilities include this automatically, but it is the student’s responsibility to ensure it is documented.
- Can the Clinical Affairs Department contact the facility for my flu vaccine information?
No. The Clinical Affairs Department will not contact the facility on your behalf.
Tuberculosis (TB)
- To complete the TB requirement, is it only the skin test?
No. Students can meet the TB requirement by completing one of the following:

No. You must upload an official form from the facility with the results documented.

TBON Clearance (For Nursing Programs ONLY)
- What do I upload to Complio for TBON clearance?
You will upload one of the following:
- Blue Card (front and back)
- Outcome Letter (both pages, including the signature page)
- I am in the nursing program. Do I have to purchase a background check?
No. Students in the VN and ADN programs do not need to purchase a background check. Your clearance will be your TBON Blue Card or TBON Outcome Letter.
- I already have a TBON Blue Card/Outcome Letter but switched nursing programs (e.g., ADN to VN). Can I use it to apply?
If you selected 'BOTH' VN and ADN when you submitted your TBON Roster, you can use it. If you only selected one program and are now applying to the other, you must resubmit an updated TBON Roster with the correct program. Otherwise, you may not be included on the correct TBON checklist and could be delayed in testing for your NCLEX.
